About TLTC

The County Tipperary Lawn Tennis Club (CTLTC) was established in 1887, making it one of the oldest tennis clubs in Ireland and reflecting the growth of the sport in the late 19th century. For over sixty years, play took place on traditional grass courts, as was typical at the time.

In 1948, the club made a defining transition by replacing its grass courts with three clay courts. This uncommon move in Ireland gave the club a distinctive identity, which it retains today as one of the few clubs in the country with traditional clay surfaces.

Today, the club blends its historic character with modern developments. It runs juniors, seniors and veterans tournaments, which are a key highlight of the Munster tennis calendar, alongside regular competitions, coaching, and community events.

With updated facilities and conveniences such as online booking, the club is an active and valued part of the local sporting community.
